Tarra Wedman is a potter residing in Fallis, Alberta where she works full time in her studio and gallery. Tarra has been practicing this craft for more than 25 years. The endless possibilities and different methods of working with materials is inspiring to her. She is constantly learning and mastering new techniques while pushing the boundaries of what is possible to achieve in ceramics. This is reflected in the quality of her creations.  

 

Tarra typically works with stoneware and porcelain clays fired in a gas kiln. The decorative patterns she uses are inspired by daily observations of gardens, forests, and the natural beauty found on Wabamun Lake. Always a sketch artist, she is constantly coming up with new designs that adorn her ceramic pieces. 

  

Working with her hands is an important part of her life. Manipulating mud, and creating useful and beautiful objects is a characteristic shared with thousands of years of potters.
